Enter bios just once.
Alright everyone, sorry for interrupting you on this Thanksgiving day. The system is running smoothly now after switching to the new motherboard from Strix ITX. Everything worked perfectly before the upgrade. I’ll start up and display the screen, using the Press Del/F1 keys to navigate into BIOS. After that, it should turn black with the BIOS light on, but once I reboot it back to normal, I see a blank screen again. Some of the fixes I tried didn’t help—like changing the GPU or formatting the SSD—but others worked. I’ve changed the BIOS updates and even tried booting from a Windows thumb drive, but both times ended up with a black screen. I’m still trying different methods: resetting the CMOS, swapping PSUs, using cables from another PC, and more. It seems like there might be an issue with the motherboard itself, though I’ve managed to get into BIOS even when it’s far away. Any suggestions or tips would be super helpful! Thanks in advance.
Ensure you know the exact hue of the illumination, then boot into Windows Safe Mode and run the command in Command Prompt: CHKDSK /f and confirm by typing Y.
It seems the system is attempting to locate a boot partition after exiting BIOS. This behavior is typical, as the BIOS will attempt to load any available boot options. If none are found, it may either restart or return to BIOS, sometimes taking longer. A drive that isn't properly formatted might still contain a boot partition. After a black screen, try pressing CTRL+ALT+DELETE to check if it restarts correctly. This model is a B550, so there may be pending BIOS updates to install. If this were my setup, I would follow these steps: 1. Update the BIOS to the latest version. 2. Install Windows correctly. 3. Verify proper functionality.
Thanks for your message! I've updated the BIOS to the latest version. The issue is that after rebooting, the screen remains black, and even when it appears, it resets to the same state. Pressing F1 to enter BIOS gives me a chance to adjust boot priorities, but once I reboot again, everything returns to black. On this Asus board, the green light indicates a fresh motherboard with no existing OS installed, which means I can't install Windows or make changes.
I may have found the solution: KEEP IN MIND THAT THE GREEN LED MEANS THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH YOUR BOOT PORCESS MEANING THAT YOUR STORAGFE DRIVES CAN BE THE PROBLEM or it is a mobo problem which means u may have to rma it if possible. go to part D in the video btw try also putting ur drives on a different slot and sata connector
It's been an endless wait. I've tested various m.2 drives, just swapping them into different slots. I'm not really relying on SATA anymore—just plugged one in for fun. Sadly, I couldn't get the video to work either. It might be time to request a replacement or repair.
This might be a motherboard issue affecting its boot process, with the CMOS corrupted, indicating a faulty boot. I'm just wondering why not install Linux—it would solve the problem since it's the hardware itself. This could be a risky idea, but if you're comfortable, it might work. If everything seems fine, we can assume your USB stick or disk image might be damaged, or you could try using your old motherboard instead of installing an OS.
Everything functioned smoothly on the previous motherboard, and all drives operated correctly when connected to another PC. I’m a fan of Linux and have been using a dual boot setup for years—still a beginner. But installing anything is now extremely challenging because I can’t get past the boot screen. Thanks a lot for your assistance and suggestions!
