Ensuring consistent performance under increased voltage or frequency settings.
Hello everyone - I recently boosted my 8700k to 4.8ghz at 1.25v. It’s performing well in Windows 10 with no WHEA warnings during Cinebench, but it becomes unstable in Windows 11. I encountered random BSODs there and am questioning whether raising the voltage would help.
No crashes mean consistent performance; failures indicate instability.
LLC configurations along with the CPU PLL voltage can minimize the voltage stress you experience under load. A more relaxed LLC and an appropriately adjusted PLL voltage may reduce benchmark voltages by 10 to 30 millivolts, though the actual set point will be slightly higher.
