NO I believe you are a bit confused. Gaming routers are just another name for a router. A sales line, like HD sun glasses and 4K 3D printers lol does not mean much

No port forwarding required for online gaming. All traffic flows freely unless you set specific rules. Use port forwarding only when hosting a game.

Most folks aren’t tech-savvy; they rely on routers or modems and don’t bother setting them up. They just want internet access without worrying about the details. That makes sense for your point about handling multiple NAT networks—it usually requires more than one Ethernet port or VLAN setup, which isn’t necessary here.

My Nat type is very strict about modern warfare 3 and on black ops 1 zombies—I can't join or invite anyone. I can't change my Nat type or do anything because I can't log into my router. I thought getting a new router would give me a private connection and let me open the Nat type. But I'm not great with routers, lol.

That would be fine... as long as you have your own internet link too. You can only affect the router, not anything else.

You cannot set up your own router. You can only change the password or request it from someone who has it. Even with access to the router, you probably wouldn’t know how to adjust its settings. As I mentioned earlier, you don’t need any router configurations to play—just configure it if you’re hosting a game.

Possibly your system uses a Windows firewall.

I have the login credentials for the router, but they aren't working. I can change the settings, but I don’t want to power it down.
