You can configure Windows to prioritize your page file or virtual memory for background processes while gaming. Since you're using limited RAM and have overclocked your system, adjusting memory settings may help reduce stuttering. Explore options like increasing virtual memory size or tweaking paging behavior to ensure your games access faster storage.

8GB system, titles such as Battlefield 1 or Apex Legends require a minimum of 1.5GB page file to function properly, indicating they likely rely on virtual memory.

You might want to relocate the page file to a different storage device rather than your primary boot drive and test the results. It seems unlikely that telling Windows to restrict page file usage for specific tasks would improve performance; it could actually hinder gaming speed. The most effective approach is to disable background applications and close unused programs during gameplay, and reduce in-game settings slightly. As long as your RAM remains within normal limits, the game should not rely on the page file. For reference, a video showing this demonstrates that with 8GB RAM only about 6.2GB is utilized, and even at 16GB it stays under 7.4GB.

Thank you for your input. Unfortunately, none of these options are new ideas or things I’m already aware of. My games run on separate drivers, not the boot drive, and using the boot drive is actually the quickest method since it’s an SSD. The occasional stuttering could stem from slower drives, but that’s something I can’t resolve. I’ll keep searching for a solution, though I’m unlikely to find anything.

Sorry to hear that, I also had 8GB single channel for a long time. I hope upgrades become possible soon.

You might want to purchase a refurbished 2x4GB storage and trade in your 8GB stick, which could potentially give you some extra performance without cost.

I thought about it, but in my area people aren't interested in technology and they don’t have much money to spend on it. Plus, the current situation makes it uncomfortable to meet with anyone for used parts. Our eBay shipping is also very slow here.
