You have Windows 7 system image files ready and want to transfer them to a fresh empty hard drive. Since you're struggling with simultaneous writes and prefer a quicker process, consider converting the VHD files into a more manageable format first. Then use a dedicated tool like Clonezilla or DiskZip to clone the entire drive. This way you can write both copies efficiently without running into speed issues.

Paragon disk manager enables backup creation and conversion to VHD, suggesting it supports both directions.

I'll check if that meets your requirements. As long as the process places both VHD files from the Windows System Image tool in the right sequence—boot first, then data—it should work. The main issue might be compatibility differences between an older PC with a BIOS and a newer one using UEFI.
