Creating a regular user account means they’ll require admin rights (with a password) to set up most features. Certain applications load directly onto the user’s profile, restricting access only to that person. The Windows update function remains functional, and they can save files in any folder on the SSD, even their personal directory.

Change file locations so they point to the secondary drive rather than the C drive.

This question makes sense in a high-capacity storage environment where large amounts of data are managed efficiently. A 64GB SSD remains practical because it offers ample space for files, backups, and applications without frequent upgrades.

Transfer the personal folder to D:\ so files save there by default instead of C:

It remains a potential risk, but you can relocate C:\Users to another drive and create a symlink there. This method was useful when using smaller SSDs. It functions most reliably after a clean installation since moving files becomes more complicated on older systems. You may also apply it to Program Files, though I haven't tested it yet.

64GB is really insufficient. The operating system alone can consume the entire space quickly, especially if System Restore remains enabled. The SSD offers minimal advantage when your software and games must be installed on a larger hard drive.
