I described the issue in my earlier post, which I’ll include below for your reference. To sum up, I updated my BIOS to accommodate the new CPU I purchased, but faced a problem without a clear fix. If I can’t resolve it, I’m considering buying a new motherboard. However, many sellers don’t promise updated BIOS for B550 and X570 boards and warn about potential BIOS updates or flashing requirements. I won’t spend too much just to stay in the same situation I began. I need assurance that the board I buy will support the 5800X3D right away. Please advise. I’m very frustrated with this situation—I’ve been struggling for a week. Thank you for your help.

I started with the Gigabyte AB350M Gaming 3 Ryzen 1400 system running 8GB x4 at 3200 MHz RAM, an Intel NVMe SSD, and Windows 10 64-bit. To switch to the 5800X3D I had to update the BIOS, but I wasn’t sure if the changes were applied correctly. Initially I flashed to version 25, then upgraded to 31, which is required for newer BIOS releases. Using the Gigabyte EC FW utility (believing it would support dual-channel RAM with newer versions), I ran the flash. It seemed to complete successfully. Next I updated to version 51, the latest recommended setting. The process finished without issues. Then I tried a BIOS rollback to a previous version, hoping that might fix the problem. This machine runs on a solid power supply, so no power interruptions were noticed. From others’ stories, some BIOS updates caused boot failures or RAM incompatibilities, but I’ve tried resetting the CMOS, changing RAM, and even using an old BIOS, without success. I’m unsure if my motherboard is damaged, but I suspect a compatibility glitch exists. If rolling back to one of the earlier BIOS versions helps, it might resolve the issue since neither 25 nor 31 seems problematic. What do you think?

No, I didn't follow their suggestion or test the 5800x3d setting.

Use the 5800x3d v51 DROPS compatibility for early Ryzen processors. The older CPU now shows a black screen as it's no longer supported.

The backing for the 1400 remained intact, which meant it didn’t contribute positively.

The guidelines indicate that version 51 didn’t remove support for these items. Despite that, I attempted it and it failed. Appreciate the effort.
