Ensure game save files remain intact during storage changes.
Hello, I've chosen to swap my laptop's hard drive for an SSD as a boot option. My current storage is split and I aim to consolidate everything onto one drive for easier access. Right now it holds photos, music, the operating system, and PC games—backups are available for quick recovery or updates. The main worry is where the game save files are stored and whether they should be moved to a designated spot so applications can locate them after relocating. Some games from Steam support cloud saves, while others don't; others might not have any. Would formatting my old HDD and transferring all files from a backup drive still work? Do I need to search for specific files before partitioning and then organize them afterward? My Steam app is on the primary OS partition, whereas my games are in a separate data partition. Thanks for your assistance!
