I recently purchased a new HP Victus 16 laptop with the following specs: RTX 4050, 120W power, Ryzen 7 7840HS, 32GB RAM, 1TB storage, running Windows 11 Home 64-bit. I noticed a change in performance—previously it ran at full GPU usage all the time, but now it only uses 50-70%, and some games even run at 30%. I want to optimize its performance so it operates closer to its maximum. I've tried adjusting game settings to high graphics performance and using the NVIDIA Control Panel with Maximum Performance enabled, but nothing helped. Can you assist me in finding a solution? The laptop is quite old, likely around 10 to 15 years based on its condition and typical wear.
I believe it's unlikely to be overheating. You can download a 3DMark demo from Steam, perform some benchmark tests, and share the findings here—this is often the simplest method for identifying such problems.
My processor runs at only 15-25% capacity in most games. I use a laptop and don’t believe it’s limiting performance.
