Ordered a new motherboard and a 12 650W pure power supply for my initial build. The Part Picker compatibility tool highlighted the PSU because it features an eight-pin plus four-pin CPU power connection, while the board requires two eight pins. I reviewed images and videos of similar boards to confirm my choice, but I’d appreciate advice from experienced builders. This is my first PC project—please be kind with my selection. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

The motherboard works perfectly with a single 1x8 CPU power connector. This 1x8 pin EPS connector supports up to 336 watts. Unless you push the system beyond normal limits through extreme overclocking, just one connector is sufficient. Most boards include additional 4 or 8-pin options for display or branding purposes. I've always used only one 1x8 pin CPU power connector and have successfully run CPUs ranging from 3900 to 9900kHz without any issues.

It's perfectly okay with a single 8pin CPU power supply. However, the MSI PRO B760-P WIFI DDR4 listing indicates the board requires both an 8pin and a 4pin. If your PSU provides those connections, you can complete all the necessary slots.

It isn't necessary to add the extra 4-pin connector for proper functioning.

I understand that emotion! It's all good with a solid 1x8 pin CPU power connector.
