Hey everyone, I'm currently on my Need for Speed nostalgia trip, playing games from Underground to Carbon. This is my current setup. DVD Drive on my desk, no side panel, seperate power supply with a paper clip. I dont want to download random cracked NoCD exes from shady websites. Is there anyway to do a NoCD exe myself? any other ideas maybe? My next uni semester starts soon and I dont want this setup to be permanent LMAO Thanks in advance

Usually I’d handle things the same way. Back then I used Deamon tools (not sure if they’re still available). Interesting tip: You can even run local multiplayer with just one original copy of the game. We did this with Battlefield Vietnam a few years back with a handful of friends. A couple didn’t own the game, so we sent them the ISO and everyone could compete locally. For true multiplayer they verified your game’s serial number so only one copy could be online at once.

The process went smoothly initially. However, the NFS Most Wanted ISO kept asking for the right disc, so I’ll try creating it again later.

It has been some time, but you might also need to download it from the ISO for it to function properly. I’d suggest removing the existing version and installing it again from the source.

Some titles require more than just installing the ISO file. This highlights limitations in early digital rights management systems.

I attempted to install the game from the ISO, but it insists on starting the CD.

It seems like someone mentioned adding the game to your collection by using its copy code. This would let you get a version that works without needing the physical disc.

Varies by game, though sometimes official updates include modifications. For instance, BF2 received a nocd mod as part of the official patch.
