We’re testing two AeroHive/ExtremeNetworks AP30 devices, but they don’t achieve strong performance at the far end of the apartment where I plan to place my workstation. I’ve created a simple layout of the space for clarity. The router is shown as Imgur here. The printer symbolizes the network entry point inside the house, while the circles show wall sockets alongside the AP30s and the Aerohive units. My laptop is where I intend to install my workstation. What’s the best upgrade plan? Since we can’t run wired connections in walls and need a solution without exposed antennas due to a curious cat, would a mesh network be preferable or just a stronger single router? I’ve heard recommendations for the Ubiquities Dream Machine, which seems perfect but costs $300—slightly too expensive. If a mesh setup could work, are there compact options that connect directly to European sockets, similar to the Ubiquiti BeaconHD? EDIT: After further research, it appears the AP30 units perform adequately; their placement might just be suboptimal.

The AP30 units connect via Ethernet to the main router, not through a wireless repeater setup. Yes, you can perform a wireless channel survey using tools like WiFiman or WiFi Analyzer for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands.

The device nearer the router uses Ethernet. The one in the center of the apartment functions as a wireless repeater. I shared the channel survey images on Imgur there.

Your SSID is the one you own and use for your network.

Apologies, I wasn't sure. It was my Wi-Fi.
