Hi everyone, I'm looking for some guidance. My system is an AMD pre-built Cyberpower PC with a Ryzen 5 3600 processor running at 3.59GHz and a 64-bit OS. I want to know if it's possible to upgrade the CPU and what options are available. Also, should I consider a new power supply? If you have more details about the machine, feel free to share.

What kind of motherboard are you using? Upgrading the CPU will depend on it, and the extent of changes usually doesn’t require a new power supply unit.

For a 400 or 500 series board, you can upgrade to a 5000-series Ryzen if your power supply is reliable (it usually is, and the power usage isn't significantly higher).

You might simply check the label, which will display the maker's name along with a series of alphanumeric codes.

Likely etched onto the IO shield, positioned at the top left near the CPU socket or centered near the top PCIe slot. Appears different on each board. Have you disassembled it yet or removed the GPU? It could be difficult to spot inside the enclosure.
