I'm checking my ISP router right now and thinking about switching to a standard model like ASUS, Ubiquiti, or TP Link. I want something with WiFi 7 for better future security and performance. Right now I can't find any in my area that meet these requirements at a good price. I'm wondering if it's possible to get a router with WiFi 6/6E and later add a WiFi 7 access point when they become more affordable and widely available, so I can enjoy the full benefits of WiFi 7 eventually. Or will there be limitations? It seems like a simple question for many people, but we all need to start somewhere. TIA

How quickly is your web connection? You'll likely need a device that matches your internet provider's setup, or keep paying for a new modem from them. (They'll show which models are officially approved.)

The speed you're seeing ranges from roughly 800Mb/s to 1Gb/s. From what I understand, the ISP's package includes a router, while your modem is already installed at home (though I'm not entirely sure).
