You have a strong setup with your RTX 4080 and Ryzen 7 5800X3D, but the CPU is limiting performance. Look for a processor that matches or exceeds your GPU’s capabilities—ideally a 6th or 7th generation Intel or AMD chip. For motherboard, ensure it supports PCIe 4.0 and has robust connectivity. A reliable power supply with ample capacity is essential. RAM should be at least DDR4-3200 or higher, preferably DDR4-3600 or faster, to fully utilize your system.

You can enjoy smooth performance at 1440p or 4K resolution. The 9800X3D offers the best value for your money.

Certainly, a more recent CPU would boost performance, particularly at lower resolutions, though it comes with a significant price tag. The 5800X3D offers strong competition against current CPUs, aside from the most recent X3D releases.
