Hello! I aim to improve my PC and have some details about it. The case is a UATX motherboard, it has a 300 watt PSU, and a 1.5TB hard drive. The model is 500-054 hp Pavilion. For upgrades, I need to consider the CPU, motherboard, PSU, and RAM. My budget is around $420. Also, I’m leaning toward an AMD upgrade since Intel is quite costly. Thanks!

You'll be using the computer for different tasks depending on its intended use. It could be for gaming or as a dedicated workstation. Without knowing the primary function, it's challenging to suggest specific components.

You're aiming to optimize your PC for various tasks—boosting productivity, enabling light web use, or diving into gaming. With a budget of around $420, you can mix fresh and used components to achieve your goals.

Are there any specific brands you prefer? ASUS, MSI, Corsair, EVGA, Sapphire, Kingpin, etc., or are you open to suggestions? A Mini-ITX setup would simplify the build but restrict you to a single PCIe x16 port. How many ports do you require? We could explore MicroATX so you have at least two functional slots.

tight budget, if you really need replacements: PCPartPicker offers a list of items with prices. A CPU like the AMD Ryzen 3 3200G is around $99.99, and a motherboard such as the ASRock B450M PRO4 is $82.99. Memory options include G.Skill Ripjaws V 16 GB at $57.99. Storage suggestions are Crucial MX500 at $62.99 and an ATX power supply from Corsair at $64.94. All figures include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts, bringing the total to approximately $368.90. You can also consider used alternatives like a Skylake i5 or Kabylake i5 for about $300, paired with a 580/480 SSD for around $100.

I checked your box by searching online since most HP/Dell cases today are unique, and I made sure it matched a standard model to confirm reuse was possible.
