Didn't notice the CPU was pushing performance limits leading to persistent problems; "spiking" is typical during brief spikes. Appreciate the extra details you shared. My setup uses a similar Q9300 for a Plex server and light tasks like browsing, disc ripping, and I haven’t faced these issues. It seems there could be an underlying hardware issue. If you're on a tight budget and need a PC for your server, relying on second-hand shops, Craigslist, or online marketplaces might be your best option to upgrade components for a more efficient Plex system.
