Enhancing boot speed // HDD spin-up
The delay is likely caused by the drive's initialization process. To reduce boot time, consider optimizing kernel settings, using faster storage options, or ensuring proper hardware configuration.
It needs to hit a certain speed to function, and I’m not sure about that.
The system runs on an SSD already. I checked how long it takes from pressing the power button until the display manager appears—about 24 seconds. The UEFI needs roughly 20 seconds to initialize. Any tweaks in systemd or the kernel image will have a minor impact. Regarding speeding things up, you might want to look into UEFI settings or firmware updates for faster performance.
