Yes, you got the title right. I'm working on a Toshiba 4000 CDS with the listed specifications. I'm attempting to increase the RAM from 32MB to 64MB, but it's not working. I've purchased two 32MB SODIMMs, though neither appears to fit properly. They seem compatible based on appearance. My target RAM specs are: tested_speed 66MHz, PC Type PC66, CAS Latency CL2. The BIOS is already updated to the latest version. Since this system is quite old (pre-2000s), there might be an issue I'm not seeing. It should simply be installed onto the motherboard. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

The older the RAM, the more challenging it becomes to combine different types. If you know someone who has done a solid upgrade or has a reliable support guide, I’d love to see those results. SDram tends to be quite selective about its compatibility and features.

It's correct, when...if the RAM fits. I noticed those old laptops are quite particular about double-sided chips. I don't know what you have, but single-sided ones worked better for me before.

It appears to be a one-sided issue, likely originating from a Toshiba laptop. I don’t have the exact model, but thanks for the suggestion—I’ll continue searching.

It's also conceivable that the slot is non-functional...
