I've owned the heart of my PC since 2011, with RAM, GPUs, and occasional storage upgrades. With current market trends and DDR5 availability, I need guidance on CPU choices, motherboard options, and RAM selections. My setup includes: a Core i7-3770K running at 3.5 GHz, a Hyper 212 cooler, a Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UP4 motherboard, Corsair Vengeance 8 GB DDR3-1600 CL9 memory, Kingston HyperX Predator 16 GB DDR3-2133 CL11, a Samsung 840 Evo 250 GB SSD, and an EVGA Black Edition GTX 1080 Ti. For future needs, I aim for a reliable build lasting about five years. This is my current configuration.

You handle video, graphics, and AI creation? That sounds like you're working with a robust setup. The server connection is likely a key factor. It's clear your current hardware isn't cutting-edge—budget constraints play a big role. Your requirements are limited, so upgrading extensively isn't necessary. A 5600 series processor, sufficient RAM, and a solid motherboard would suffice. Avoid overdoing it; a balanced setup works best.

It's best to update the settings and use a new operating system. Current Windows versions don't support DDR3, and older processors won't work properly.

You're dealing with a situation that needs careful planning. Recommendations based solely on this might not fit your setup. I understand you're aiming for a dedicated CPU, then allocating memory accordingly, and you're aware it can be a bit tricky. Your current CPU is the main constraint, and upgrading it should help. A 5600 seems modest, but it's a reasonable target if you're looking to improve performance.

7950x (16 cores should hold up better with more threads) paired with an Msi carbon 64gb 6000mhz RAM, a 4090 1200w PSU, and a black PCIe4 2tb motherboard.

Honestly, you've been using a 3770k for ten years. Five years back it was terrible, then you kept going for five more years. It doesn’t seem like you need something exceptional, so I provided a solid 6c/12t CPU that’s currently offering the best value. If you’re aiming for longevity and want it to last another decade, consider a 13900K or a 7950x.
