You're looking to upgrade your PC while staying within a budget of $300–$400. Consider focusing on the CPU first, as it's often the biggest bottleneck. With your current specs, a Ryzen 5 5600X paired with the 4080 GPU should work well if you choose a compatible CPU like the latest Intel or AMD options that support AM5. Upgrading to an AM5 motherboard and replacing the PSU would be a solid next step, especially since your power setup is at 850W. Your monitor and RAM are already solid, so no major changes there. Stick to reputable brands within your price range for best value.

You won’t find an AM5 platform upgrade in your budget since you also need DDR5 RAM. Consider moving to the 5700X3D or 5800X3D and stop there.

Ryzen 5800X3D, later known as 5700X3D. There will still be some performance limits, though not too bad.
