Hello, I'm upgrading my system. I want to replace the CPU and motherboard, plus add a 16GB RAM stick. I'm playing GTA V, PUBG, COD Warzone, and streaming to YouTube or Twitch. My current setup is struggling with the load. I can sell my old parts and get 150 euros in my country, and I have 100 more euros available. Could you recommend a new CPU and motherboard? I'm using an Intel i5 6500, 8GB DDR4 2133MHz HyperX Fury White RAM, and the rest of the components are as you mentioned. Thank you!

Your overall budget stands at 250 Euros. Which nation are you purchasing from? And are you comfortable switching to a Ryzen (AMD) setup?

Consider selling the existing 8GB stick and investing in a more powerful 2x8GB setup (2933-3200MHz). Pair it with a Ryzen 2600 or 1600AF and a solid B450 board such as the B450M PRO-VDH MAX.

Looking at the available options, I’d consider similar components such as this and trade my current 8GB RAM stick for a 16GB kit with faster speeds. Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts. Total comes to £270.20.

PCPartPicker list shows affordable components. The AMD Ryzen 5 1600 (12nm) 3.2 GHz 6-core chip costs around €103.80. It pairs with the MSI B450M PRO-VDH MAX Micro ATX AM4 board for €80.89. G.Skill Aegis memory (16 GB, 2x8 GB DDR4-3000) is priced at €77.99. All prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts. Total comes to approximately €262.68. This setup offers the best value right now. The 12nm model matches the Ryzen 5 2600 performance, and the motherboard works out of the box.

If needed, I could spend 300 euros on Intel again, though I hear Ryzen is currently superior.

Could you clarify what you mean? Are you asking about purchasing an additional 8GB storage instead of buying another device?

Search for Ryzen 5 3600 models priced around 160 euros in your country and check availability of unopened units.

Since 2133MHz reaches its minimum for DDR4, and particularly for Ryzen processors, having quick RAM provides significant advantages.

This would probably cause problems with various connectors and it’s more practical to choose Ryzen for better memory performance within your budget.
