Hi, I'm trying to upgrade my computer but I'm not sure what the outcome will be because my knowledge is pretty limited. Right now I'm using a laptop with these specs: Intel Core i5-7300HQ at 2.50GHz, 2496 MHz, 4 cores, and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 screen that refreshes at about 60 Hz. I’m planning to build a PC with AMD Ryzen 3700X, an Asus RTX 2060 Dual EVO, and a gaming monitor that supports 144 Hz. My brother and his friend suggested this upgrade could significantly boost FPS across most games, especially since my laptop only manages around 30 FPS even on low settings. They said the improvement would be huge and even impressive to others. But they also mentioned the laptop I own is fine, so I’m wondering if there’s a real difference for general gaming. Also, how can I make my PC load games and websites faster? My current experience shows people loading things in under a millisecond, which makes me feel insecure. Thanks a lot, Sadie.
You just boosted the CPU and GPU power significantly, which should noticeably improve gaming performance. The board is handling it well—better spend more on that. Regarding RAM, go with reliable SSDs like the MX500 or SU800 using NVMe; SATA SSDs won’t make a big difference for games or browsing.
