I'm using Sky and noticed you can't simply swap routers, but some ASUS models work well with Ethernet connections. This allows spreading devices across routers, making the setup much cleaner than a full wired network. I have a BT flex 500 connected to an ASUS N16, which uses the same SSID but different channels on the other router. It's giving me near-full speeds throughout the house with 8-12 devices online. If you want to know how I set it up, just reach out and we can walk through it together.

She uses a Virgin box at her home that five people share, and they need at least 15 devices or more. When I first set it up, it performed well with solid speeds since I was the only one using it for troubleshooting. Now everyone lives there, and she claims it's extremely slow, making streaming impossible. I don't believe Virgin hubs are particularly impressive.

I don't rely on routers with built-in antennas. It complicates setting them up for optimal performance. I changed my friend's Virgin Hub to modem mode, installed an OpenWRT router with SQM QoS, and it greatly boosted stability.
