I recently purchased Skyrim and wanted to enhance its appearance. I'm seeking mods that improve its visuals without significantly affecting performance. My system runs a 7870 with an AMD 965 at 3.4GHz. If you have any other helpful recommendations, please let me know!

Many premium enablers face issues on that platform, yet this would work great http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/24235

You can find my previous post about great Skyrim mods here. Most of the ones I shared—like Grass on Steroids, which could be tough—won’t affect performance (I run on an iGPU, by the way). The ENBs I mentioned are almost performance-neutral: I also posted two ENBs that kept performance nearly unchanged, even with Stakado.

How significant is the impact on your FPS when using the standard files versus the lightweight version?

I own the LITE mods and didn't notice any performance issues, though I can't confirm yours. If it causes a significant slowdown, you could install the LITE version on top or remove it using Nexus Mode Manager. I also saw a video of someone with a 7870 (2GB card) running the same mod and a few others—checking it out might help or spark some discussion.

Examine the connection point and locate an ENB you prefer, then apply the Texture Pack Combiner. Aim for a version with a GUI, as the current nexus setup is quite old.
