I currently possess a 4070ti, 9800x3d, G-sync. In the past two titles (Jedi Survivor and Forbidden West) I've observed improved frame rates when using AMD FSR. This seems contradictory since I'm running an Nvidia graphics card. I assume DLSS or similar features might perform better? Probably depends on the specific game. I should admit this could be a simple question—please don't get upset. Generally, the CPU isn't a major factor in 4K gaming (1080/1440 is fine, it's more about the GPU). Does the x3d cache affect AMD FSR performance? Just wondering if others with Nvidia cards experience better results?
I always rely on FSRC (if upscaling) DLS — it looks worse and feels less responsive every time. Why? It's two different technologies, so why not one work better? In this case, FSRC seems superior, lighter, and more efficient. It feels a bit overhyped, but my 3600 FSRC still performed better back then.
Only once was mentioned that no one ever said DLS always looks better than FSR.
I never focused on matching the exact numbers. If I need to boost performance in a game, I'll test all three options—DLSS, XeSS, and FSR—and choose a mix that gives me the best balance of speed and visuals. FSR images always seem lower quality to me. Strange speckles appear in small details like characters' hair when they move, and the bunch's stability is the poorest. Many fine details also flicker badly. XeSS outperformed DLSS in Yakuza Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth mainly because of its better consistency across games. It changes from one game to another, so find what suits you best. Don't get too fixated on chasing numbers once you're comfortable, unless it's a title where high scores really matter.
