You're experiencing a drop in FPS during competitive play compared to casual sessions. Your current setup includes a Ryzen 3 2200G, GTX 1650, and 8GB of single-channel memory. Increasing to 16GB dual-channel RAM might help, but it depends on your specific hardware configuration and the game's requirements. Consider testing in-game performance metrics to determine if more memory resolves the bottleneck.

Upgrading to dual-channel isn't always the best choice for boosting performance. We discovered during our scrapyard battles that single-channel can sometimes deliver better results.

I'm not sure what a scrim refers to, but using dual channel can significantly boost your bandwidth. This should definitely enhance performance.

A scrim refers to crowded conditions where many people gather in a limited area. In such scenarios, does a dual channel solution assist?

From what my little brother has told me (he knows way more about Fortnite than I do), it's a tournament, so more building is happening, so likely more new elements are being loaded into memory (because it's not part of the environment), or at least that's what I've heard.

Dual channel memory can improve your performance by 10-30%, varying with the game or situation. It’s likely the most cost-effective enhancement for your setup, offering significant benefits without high expense.
