Engine issues in Red Engine 3 (The Witcher 3)
Hey everyone, just wanted to share what I've been through and ask for your thoughts. I've got a factory-optimized Gigabyte GTX 960 with extra 150 MHz on both the core and memory. This gives me a solid base/boost clock of around 1315/1378 MHz for the core and 7160 MHz for the memory. I ran some stress tests, and it holds up really well in terms of stability. But while playing The Witcher 3, especially in scenes with heavy lighting effects, I've noticed occasional flickering and some red and green artifacts. I'm pretty sure the green artifacts might be linked to the memory overclock, but I'm not sure what's causing the other visual issues. Interestingly, I haven't seen any problems in other games I've played before. Could it be that Red Engine has trouble with overclocked cards? Or is this just a stability quirk? Thanks for checking!
Withcher 3 isn't great for overclocking. I had to turn off the overclock on my 770 after more than a year because it would crash. I didn't see any visual issues, just frequent freezes.
