Ensure you're connected to the correct port to display 100Mbit speed.
Advertised speed equals 1000 megabits per second, actual performance is around 100 megabits per second.
PC Settings > Network & Internet > Network and Sharing Center > Change Adapter Settings > Right click on the ethernet connection > Status It shows MBps instead of Mbps for megabytes, the capital letters matter and change the meaning. B = bytes, b = bits.
However, the main point is accurate; I missed a capital letter which could clarify things (I’m also double-checking my understanding because Google keeps repeating this).
The speed test shows megabits, not megabytes. The operating system is delivering just a fraction of the claimed performance.
