1000 megabits per second equals 125 megabits per second, which is about 1 gigabit each second. You mentioned having a gigabyte LAN at home—doesn’t that match what I know?

PC Settings > Network & Internet > Network and Sharing Center > Change Adapter Settings > Right click on the ethernet connection > Status It shows MBps instead of Mbps for megabytes, the capital letters matter and change the meaning. B = bytes, b = bits.

It's either I'm not paying attention or you're mixing things up—1000 Mbit/s equals about 125 MegaBytes per second, and I'm checking Google.

The speed test shows megabits, not megabytes. The operating system is delivering just a fraction of the claimed performance.

It seems your internet service provider might have an incorrect plan assigned. Have you restarted the router after updating the software?
