Hello everyone. I'm attempting to set up a Windows 10 copy on my Acer Aspire 3 A315-33 notebook, replacing Endless OS. The USB thumb drive isn't showing up in the boot menu despite passing the bootability check. Anyone have any suggestions on what might be causing this issue?

I'm thinking you have one USB port available. Do you have a USB hub that you could plug into the laptop, then attach the USB drive to it?

I've looked through the web and seen many similar issues. It seems the USB isn't displaying properly.

Sure, I can attempt to access the BIOS settings and adjust them to the default or optimized configuration.

I'd check the following: 1. Is fast boot enabled? If so, it won't boot from anything other than built-in storage. 2. Is there a setting for allowing booting from USB? 3. Have you tried legacy or CMS instead of UEFI? 4. Is your USB flash drive correctly created? If it's made from an ISO with a tool like Rufus, make sure you selected the right boot settings. 5. Is your USB flash drive for a 32 or 64 bit version of Windows? Some UEFI bioses also lock down the architecture, demanding either 32 or 64 bit. Also, if any boot options and such are grayed out, try setting an administrator password for the BIOS. Some BIOSes require a password in order to unlock some of the settings. Note: make sure you have the latest BIOS flashed, as those can often add CMS functionality.

I’ll check what I can accomplish with the notebook. I’ll share my actions and the outcomes.
