It resolved a specific issue, but the screen still crashes to black while the card works. I'm unsure what to do next.

Ryzen 5950x at temperatures between 65-70°C with 64GB DDR4 at 3600MHz paired with RX 6950xt on a 50-67°C setup. Used an ASUS Crosshair hero 8 x570 EVGA 850W power supply. Tried another PCIe slot and the same results.

Do you possess a multimeter for checking the CMOS battery voltage? If not, just swap the battery. It seems to be dead, with problems comparable to those I've faced on Asus AM4 boards.

talking about cmos, i just installed a bios update. the odd part is i recall updating it this year and it showed an older version on it. when i went back to black screen, it crashed with fans at full speed, and the os turned off the graphics card.
