You're facing a common issue when using virtualization software like VMware with older Windows versions. The problem seems to stem from compatibility between the virtual GPU and your hardware. Since you have an RTX 3050, it's worth checking if that model supports virtualization in VMware. You might need to switch to a different virtualization method or update your drivers. Also, ensure your graphics card is properly recognized by the virtual machine. If the issue persists, consider consulting VMware support or exploring alternative solutions for running the game.

The solution involves GPU passthrough using two GPUs—one for the host and another to send to the virtual machine. This feature isn't available in VMware Workstation; you'd need a server-based product. Alternatives like VirtualBox or Hyper-V could work instead.

Not available on desktop tools such as VMWare Workstation, but available in VMWare ESXi. They offer a tech preview of Workstation 20H2 that supports DirectX11. I’m not sure if the game would recognize it as a compatible GPU: https://blogs.vmware.com/workstation/202...p20h2.html
