Consider getting a 256GB SSD for faster performance. If speed is more important to you than extra storage, it’s a better choice. A 1TB hard drive offers more space but will be slower compared to the SSD.

@smokefest & @Electronics Wizardy , thanks so much for the help! Just got my new SSD, I ended up going for 525gb crucial (borrowing some $ because I felt I needed the space). Windows runs perfectly, must have been an issue with the old drive. Also, now that I have an SSD I can't even imagine going back, like holy sh!t. Thanks so much for the advice. Also for those that care, I was able to make my old hard drive useful, I am using it as a secondary drive in my PC for storing non important files. I had to format it from MBR to GPT because windows didn't like it in MBR apparently but after that it works fine. The issues are still noticeable on it but it works fine for storing old word documents etc. To summarize, got an SSD and it is amazing, solved all issues. Thanks!
