Encountering laptop BSoDs during power-off attempts.
When I attempt to power down my PC, it crashes and restarts into the recovery interface. I have to manually turn it off from there, let it sit for ten minutes, then restart. This process blocks me from updating because I’m anxious about potential issues if I skip the update. It doesn’t occur when I hibernate. My display also fails completely if I close the lid after opening it—especially during hibernation, which I enable after an hour of inactivity. These problems appear at the operating system level, as the Acer logo and loading wheel remain visible even after power cycles.
According to my specifications, I have:
- 8GB DDR4 RAM
- AMD A9-9420 CPU
- AMD Radeon 520 GPU with 2GB VRAM
It consistently displays various error codes, though the unusual part is the binary message appearing in the corner, which varies each time.
It’s happening because the system jumps straight into the repair tool without waiting, and it won’t acknowledge any key presses until then.
