Encountering issues with the B450 AORUS PRO Wi-Fi version 64 update.
I'm considering a CPU upgrade soon. The current AM4 motherboard isn't up to the task, so I was thinking about a Ryzen 5 5600X. However, this new update already lowers my FPS by 20% and causes my CPU and GPU usage to stay above 90% during gameplay. In contrast, with the previous version, my GPU usage was around 50-70% while my CPU stayed at 80%+, restoring my FPS.
Go back to an earlier BIOS that functioned well and handles the 5600X just like the F60. It's unclear why the F64 version drops FPS by about 20%, even after thorough testing—apologies for the disappointment.
I also reached out to the support for that motherboard, but they didn’t reply. It seems I’ll probably get a replacement from another brand instead—maybe to switch to an Intel CPU and continue from there.
The updated F64 version lowers my frame rate and causes my GPU and CPU to operate near full capacity in every game. The previous models, F51 and F64, performed better overall, with all settings set to defaults except the DDR4 RAM configuration that needs manual adjustment for optimal clock speed performance. I reached out to Gigabyte via their site but didn’t receive a reply after two days.
If you have a phone, try calling them. It's more direct and will get a response (of some sort) immediately. Waiting on an email is for lack of a better word... ridiculous. If you want something, go after it. Try F60 and see what that gives you. It's what is needed for a 5600 anyway.
When everything functions properly and your system remains balanced, your GPU should operate above 95% during active gaming. The CPU will also rise to around 90% if the BIOS supports SMT, which was previously turned off. It seems the latest BIOS is tailored for X3D CPUs, as some boards now include the SMT feature that was missing before. Also, verify that Above 4G Decoding and Re-BAR/SAM are activated in the BIOS settings.
