Encountering display issues in Kovaak 2.0: The Meta
Hello, I've been dealing with screen tearing lately. Feel free to share the details if you'd like. I have a 144hz monitor with free-sync, but I'm using g-sync since I have an NVIDIA GPU. I limit my FPS to 144 on Kovaak.
GPU: gtx 1060 6GB
CPU: intel core i5-7600
RAM: 16GB
MONITOR: G2460PF
If you need more information, just let me know. It's really annoying.
My prediction is that even with a 144fps limit, the GPU might not be utilizing it fully. When you refer to your monitor being “freesynch,” do you mean adaptive synch? If a monitor supports freesynch but gsynch is disabled, it won’t make any changes. Nvidia has recently released a feature that enables monitors to support both freesynch and gsynch, which could address this issue.
Gsync and Freesync are distinct solutions from Nvidia and AMD. Unfortunately, they can't be used in the same way, meaning you'll need to upgrade your graphics card or monitor if you want to use either one. Also, note that both technologies operate exclusively over displayport, not HDMI.
I believe the issue might be related to Kovaak 2.0 causing FPS drops and bugs, making it very laggy at times. Also, I was told that turning on G-Sync with the monitor would eliminate screen tearing, which worked yesterday (you should check the thread in my profile).
