Encountered problem with DNS probe completion not reaching the internet.
Hello, I'm facing some network problems and trying to figure out what's going on. A few days back I switched my ISP—probably from an older system to the newest version. It functioned well for three days until one morning it completely lost internet access. The Wi-Fi was still strong, but my main PC had no Ethernet connection and the second one was very slow. After some checks, a technician from the ISP inspected it; they reset the modem and that's about all they did. Wi-Fi remained active, but the main computer still didn’t work, while the second one performed well. Recently, I reinstalled Windows 10, and suddenly the Ethernet connection worked on my main PC again, but the next day the same problem returned. I only had a few programs installed, mainly Avast and Atlas VPN, and noticed the internet was active during nighttime when I was sleeping. ISSUE - When using Chrome, I receive a DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NO_INTERNET error; I can’t ping my modem. In Windows diagnostics, it says: “Windows can't communicate with device or ressource (Primary DNS server).” Security or firewall settings might be blocking the connection (Avast is currently uninstalled). The cable appears to be properly connected. WHAT I DID [link] This seems to cover everything. I searched extensively, but most advice focused on driver updates, specific CMD commands, changing DNS settings, reinstalling Windows 10, adjusting ports, or swapping cables. I’m unsure if any of these steps would help, especially since my hardware includes a Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller with driver version 10.53.1001.2021 (latest).
Type of internet link You have Is the ISP device model You’re using Any other network gear connected to it? Is the Ethernet cable type and condition intact? Are you certain your VPN isn’t active in the background? Would you like to verify without the VPN enabled? Are you employing any custom DNS settings? Review your NIC characteristics.
