I've experienced GTA 5 like many others, but it keeps freezing and I'm unsure why. My system includes an i7 4790K processor, 8GB Corsair Vengeance RAM at 2133MHZ, two GTX 780 graphics cards in SLI mode, a Crucial MX 100 SSD in RAID 0, a MSI Gaming 5 motherboard with a 1000W power supply. I can play the game for about five minutes or two hours, but it always crashes. I've adjusted settings from low to ultra and everything in between, used SLI or single cards, ran it from SSD or HDD, sometimes it restarts or causes a BSOD mostly during gameplay. I also tested it on an older PC (i5 760 @ 4GHz, 8GB RAM, GTX 780) with a WD Blue drive, but it still crashed. The only similarity was the amount of RAM and save file. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Cut the GTA:V folder from your My Documents < Rockstar to your desktop, run the game. It should prompt you as if it's a new save game, so it'll ask you to change your game brightness, and then it should take you through the story prologue. After the prologue starts, ALT-F4 out of the game, copy (don't cut just in case) and paste the GTA:V folder you put on your desktop back into the Rockstar folder located in My Documents and it should ask you if you want to merge and replace files, to which you'd say yes to all files. Then run the game. Viola. Worked for me. Credit to @ Prastupok .

Check your page files and see if they’re correct. Switching to DX10 might affect performance if settings aren’t optimized.

I posted a potential solution. It functioned for me and another person.

In GTA Online you'll likely face crashes. It has crashed three times recently. Playing single-player hasn't happened even once in the past 49 hours.

Yes, it's the GTA single-player mode and all drivers are current.
