I own an HP Probook 450 G7 equipped with 32GB RAM and a 1TB SSD, which I acquired around two years ago. The device stopped functioning suddenly while I was running normal tasks in MATLAB. It seemed like I had nearly exhausted the memory, possibly due to writing many variables into files. I was merely pasting some sections and it froze. I thought it might be because the RAM ran out, so I closed Chrome and the first window would close, but the second one wouldn’t respond when I tried to open it. All interactions ceased. The fan increased rapidly to 100%, and the exhaust felt like stress testing. This lasted about a minute before I saw a blue screen with an unexpected_store_error error. The crash report took time to load, stuck at 0% for a while. After restarting, it spent more time loading the HP logo and eventually displayed a black command line with a PXE prompt. It then showed up as 3F0 with no detected hard drive, though the motherboard test passed. What should I do next? Am I dealing with a solid-state drive failure or something else I can troubleshoot? Since I lack repair experience, I’m unsure what steps to take without risking further damage. I have a multimeter and an anti-static strap available.
