Today I installed a new CPU, Mobo and GPU. With these changes I reinstalled Windows 7 and set up a RAID 0 on two 128GB SSDs using Intel's tool. After several reboots and updates, I encountered the error message: 'A disk read error occurred, Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart'. It didn't resolve itself, so I used the reset button on my case. It seems the Windows Update may have affected the system. What could be causing this issue? How can I fix it without having to reinstall Windows again today? Thanks for your help.

It seems you're trying to recall a troubleshooting step, but the details are unclear. You mentioned booting into safe mode and deleting an update, possibly due to a failed RAID setup. Clarify the steps you're trying to take or confirm if your RAID is functioning correctly.

I gave it a shot by hitting F8 to boot in safe mode, but the same issue kept popping up.

No changes were made. One of the storage drives is nonfunctional. The message was about KB2913431, but it’s unrelated to the current issue. As mentioned before, one of the SSDs is dead.

What's up?! I just edited it. The best way to figure out which one is right?

Only serious issues appear. All the problems I've seen so far involve a dead storage device.

Therefore, a single disk failure results in the complete loss of the RAID 0 storage volume.

Sure, I understand. You need to figure out which device is malfunctioning before proceeding.

Insert them one at a time (don't add any HDD, just one SATA drive) and turn on the PC. Begin with the one that has Windows installed. If it doesn't boot properly, it might be dead; if it does, there could be no operating system installed. You'll need to install one or something similar.

I forgot about raid 0... can you share another machine to reformat those?
