My computer has been displaying an AMI page during startup, stating that only a single 4-pin connector for the CPU is detected. Experts suggest using 8-pin power connectors for better stability and to avoid overheating the motherboard during heavy use. I own an ASUS PRIME B560M-A/CSM motherboard and a Seasonic 750W Focus Gold PSU. I attempted to disconnect and reconnect the 24-pin and 8-pin power cables multiple times, but the issue persisted. After swapping the PSU with an Antec model for nine years, no error appeared. I concluded the PSU is faulty and took it to a retailer, who advised it’s not critical as long as the system remains stable. They also mentioned a stress test video showing performance on a lower-end GPU, which seems unrelated. Even though my current setup supports my RTX3070 and 11600KF CPU, I’m considering upgrading later to prevent potential issues. I’m worried the faulty PSU might lead to overheating or damage, especially if it causes the motherboard to overheat. Should this power supply be repaired or replaced? Additionally, with my technical background, I’m curious about how the motherboard manages power distribution between connectors and VRMs. I checked that under no load, the 8-pin connector reads 12.04V, which seems normal.
