While playing Fortnite my game frequently crashes and restarts to desktop after a short session. Recently I replaced my motherboard and CPU, switching from an Intel i5 to an Intel i7 9700K with a Zotac RTX 2060. My system runs on an Asus ROG Strix Z390. I’m unsure what might be causing the issue and don’t have any guidance on troubleshooting.

Have you reinstalled Windows? There might be a driver conflict.

I didn't reinstall it after turning on the PC. The system already had everything set up when it powered up, even after changing the motherboard and CPU.

Generally yes, you can handle both processes simultaneously using a Windows install tool. Be sure to back up all your files before proceeding since the drive needs to be cleared.

Checked Fortnite crashing issues during streaming and discovered a possible solution. Consider disabling NVidia Shadowplay and the overlay in the NVidia control panel. This quick fix might work before you reinstall Windows, as suggested by @fasauceome. Resetting or updating the BIOS is another option, though it’s not the first step I’d recommend.

Maybe the high CPU temperature is the reason.
