Encountered a 0d error during the dual-channel memory boot process.
Hey everyone, I just finished assembling a new PC and was using a stock cooler until my AIO arrived. I removed the cooler and CPU to check if the ordered AIO fit properly. After cleaning everything, I restarted it and noticed it would start up with fans and lights but would freeze at a 0 error code. I searched online and thought maybe the CPU or motherboard pins were bent. I inspected the CPU pins and found nothing unusual, and the motherboard has a protective cover over its pins, making it hard to see. I tried adjusting things and even removed some RAM, but the PC still wouldn’t boot unless there was no RAM in the slots. I’ve also tightened the cooler and checked the connections, but nothing changed. It seems like the issue might be with the CPU or motherboard. I’m wondering if it’s worth taking it to a repair shop. My specs are: MSI Meg X570, unified motherboard, Ryzen 9 3900X, stock cooler, 2x 8GB RAM, XPG Gammix DDR4 3200MHz, and Radeon RX 5700. I’m hoping this is still a hardware problem and would appreciate advice.
Does it share posts when both sticks aren't in the dual channel? It might sound like a faulty motherboard, but it could actually be related to RAM or the CPU.
Hello, your MSI Meg X570 Unify arrived today with the same problem. After trying two sets of RAM and using dual channel, it won’t post. Everything boots normally on its own and starts Windows as expected. You may want to take it in for an RMA at the store where you purchased it—it could be a motherboard issue.
