I just put in AVAST anti-malware but it came with Dropbox, which I don’t want. When Dropbox asked for permission to modify my PC, I declined and the desktop shortcut vanished. It doesn’t appear in Programs and Features in Control Panel. If I look for it on my PC, I see a few files but can’t open or delete them due to an error message. How can I remove these from my system?
Consider reinstalling Dropbox, then removing it once more to allow it to delete everything. EDIT: Also verify your program files for the presence of the Dropbox folder, likely located at C:/Program Files/Dropbox or C:/Program Files (x86)/Dropbox.
These three files on the right side of the Desktop appear to be Dropbox-related (Dropbox is clearly in the name). The one at the top of the window also seems connected to Dropbox. I can delete the desktop files, but the one in the window won’t remove, otherwise the error will appear.
