you have an old computer with two hdd partitions. the bootloader stopped working, so you used xp recovery which copied the bootloader to the wrong partition. now the pc only boots into dos and doesn’t change. you want to fix this without deleting both partitions.
The easiest solution is to move your personal files to a desktop or an external drive. Format and begin over.
I understand... likely I'll try that. Just in case someone has a simpler solution.
