Hi everyone. I encountered an issue with the GeForce exp' app and its related tools, including shadow play, shield drivers, and the 3D vision control panel. The files were split between my boot SSD and HDD. I tried moving everything to the HDD by creating a folder, but many files wouldn't move because they were marked as in use. Now some files appear missing, and I can't uninstall them from the control panel. Should I re-download the files from NVidia? Any advice would be really helpful—I'm really confused and feel completely overwhelmed. Thanks for your support!

Avoid installing software in the future. Try using CCleaner to attempt removal, then perform a clean. Some remnants could still be left in the registry.

The GeForce experience app is functioning properly, yet I’m unable to access the NVidia control panel in my hardware settings or hear any sounds from it.

Currently the GeForce Experience app is functioning after a fresh download and GPU is operational. However, it appears I’ve created a lot of confusion due to numerous NVidia files scattered across my SSD and HDD, and the NVidia control panel isn’t opening. Could someone guide me on restoring the original or working configuration? Am I correct in believing I need a tool to remove all NVidia files before re-downloading them? How would this affect the NVidia control panel? Can it be re-downloaded? Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I’m quite confused and lost.

You don’t require any special software. On Windows 8.1, right-click the bottom-left corner, select Programs and Features, then go through each Nvidia device you have and uninstall them all. Don’t forget the Video Card driver. Explore your folders across all your storage drives and remove any leftover GeForce, Nvidia, or similar files. Restart GeForce Experience and ensure it’s installed only on one drive.

Thank you for your message. Just to clarify, if you simply select and delete files, will they be fully removed? Or might they remain visible in the uninstall/change section of the control panel? Additionally, how can I reinstall the NVIDIA control panel if it’s not already available in my system? Thank you for your support.

Remove all Nvidia drivers and software from the "Programs and Features" section first. Scan for any leftover files, though you might not need to—just verify both drives if you're unsure. Later, download GeForce Experience from the official Nvidia website; it should resolve everything. During installation, choose a clean setup to ensure a fresh reset in the correct sequence.

Sure, I'll try that. When browsing through the drives, I'm uncertain if some folders belong to NVidia. I don't want to delete anything useful and risk further damage. I plan to upload a picture soon to show the folders in question. Also, will downloading GeForce Experience also download the NVidia control panel, which should appear there? Thank you for your patience—it's just been a bit confusing after searching on Google.

These are the folders you mentioned. A few contain what look like NVIDIA files while others don’t but still show related content. Would it be better to remove the ones with NVIDIA files? The picture was too big to display.
