Enable strict NAT on both machines
Hey everyone. Looking into the NAT settings for PC gaming. I'm using 4G LTE via a Huawei CPE 5G router, which connects to an ASUS RT-AX56U. The ASUS is set to access point mode, then it distributes traffic to four devices on my home network. However, when PC1 starts a game like Call of Duty, I see open NAT, but PC2 has strict NAT, causing matchmaking problems. Even if PC2 plays alone, the strict NAT appears. I've assigned both static IPs and forwarded ports on the Huawei router. What should I do to fix this so both PCs connect smoothly without strict NAT?
Only landlines are typically required, as mobile networks generally handle this. There are far too many mobile devices to assign each a genuine public IP address, which is why operators use a NAT router to manage them.
I don’t have access to landlines or fiber, just the 4G network.
