I’m just starting with AMD systems, so I’m not sure how to adjust these settings. The web isn’t very useful for me, and my friend doesn’t know how to modify things in the BIOS. In his BIOS it looks grayed out, but the HDMI port is linked to the GTX 710. Both the motherboard (ASRock A320M) and CPU (AMD Ryzen 3200G) can output video via integrated graphics, which makes me puzzled about why he can’t change it. It’s an IBP Power PC.

Connect the HDMI port on the MoBo device, not the graphics card.

He meant what I said, but he said he’d fix the GPU later. I’m not sure if it’ll work just by connecting it to the HDMI port on the motherboard—it should, but it should also let him switch it even when it’s plugged into the GPU, right?

In the worst situation, simply reset the CMOS to revert all BIOS configurations back to defaults, including activating the onboard graphics. If you altered any BIOS settings (such as Enable X.M.P.), you’ll need to restore those changes. Keep in mind to use DDU to remove Nvidia drivers, as they might interfere with game performance.

I’ll propose both choices and check the results. The process will take a couple of days after testing and updates, so it won’t happen immediately. I’ll keep the discussion open right now.

Newegg made a mistake; the system wasn't what I expected. It got replaced with a Ryzen 3 3100 that lacks built-in graphics.

No, you should take out the GPU. Haha, that's frustrating...! Do they have an alternative GPU now? How does this process work? Is it about swapping components and then reselling without informing the buyer? And I guess I'm just going with Ibuypower, right?

it was an open box PC, so maybe another person tried it too—I don’t know. At least the 3100 runs faster than the 3200G, but the GT 710’s GPU is pretty weak. Right now there aren’t many good options available. I’d probably suggest he return it and get a better prebuilt, since he already wanted the PC now.

It seems you're unsure about the decision but believe upgrading to a GPU like the 1050Ti or 1060 might help.

It's a powerful Ryzen 3 3100; pairing it with an RTX 2060 or comparable would work well.
