Hey there, the game crashes whenever I approach the amphitheater during this quest. Do you have any ideas on how to fix it? The mods currently in use (all from the FO4 Mod Menu) include UFO4P Weightless junk and the Companion Ammo settings are set to the minimum level, even though my rig can handle it well. I also see a GPU spike reaching around 99% (weapon debris is already off).

Fallout 4 can be quite challenging. Even though it's not overly demanding, it sometimes feels tough to run smoothly. I experienced frame drops during a mission last year, especially during big explosions like multiple mines or intense fire effects. It turned the game into a slow-moving presentation and made my computer freeze. There was also a later battle that nearly stopped me, as all the effects froze everything. I had to keep saving frequently and look for a way through. I think you're talking about the amphitheatre issue, but I don’t remember any personal problems with it. You might want to check online forums for others who faced similar issues—there’s likely help available. Good luck!

A mod named Buffout 4 (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/47359) creates crash logs which are useful for diagnosing crashes. Be aware that this mod depends on additional mods to function properly.

Thanks for your feedback. It seems the previous attempts didn’t work as expected. I understand you’re already aware of what’s coming up and just wanted to try again. I stopped trying because I felt confident about the changes, but now I’m unsure if they’ll help. I prefer installing mods only through the official FO4 menu to avoid risking my save file. Appreciate your support!

Absolutely straightforward and it makes total sense if you don’t want to mess around outside the main menu. Doing mods beyond the official FO4 interface isn’t as intimidating as it seems. Just spend a bit of time grasping the fundamentals, especially if you’re only planning to run simple modifications. Once you’ve got the basics down and tried your first few mods, it feels like a snowball rolling downhill—at least that’s how it went for me. After that, learning how to manage mods outside the main menu is something you’ll never want to take back. I’ve been playing FO4 with mods from outside the official interface since the start, and I haven’t ever experienced a corrupted save file. People often say this, but unless you’re doing some wild stuff with lots of scripts or completely unsure what you’re doing, the chances are pretty low.

Modding might seem overwhelming without clear guidance. I was concerned about keeping my system safe when using unofficial software.

Absolutely, I shared similar concerns before diving in. It’s not complicated once you grasp the fundamentals. Using mods from reputable platforms like NexusMods adds a good layer of security. I began experimenting around 2016 and haven’t faced any harmful content yet.
